Kindergarten at Hope is beyond the traditional kindergarten. As our average class size is 15 students, we are able to provide our children much more personal attention than they would receive in larger classes. As a private kindergarten, we go beyond the curriculum standards set forth by the California Department of Education. Our curriculum includes a comprehensive reading program designed by Open Court’s SRA Reading program from Scientific Research supplemented by a program reader series. Our experience and parent testimonials confirm that our reading program which integrates phonics and literature is a very effective method to success in reading. In addition to reading and language arts, our kindergarteners will also learn manuscript printing skills from Zaner-Bloser, math concepts from Saxon Math, hands-on science experiences, social studies or community awareness programs, and Mandarin. Kindergartners at Hope will be taught the Christian faith and values through Bible stories, prayers, and songs.
